The Taylor Swift and Kanye West beef (PART 1)

The ultimate beef in the world of celebrities this year has got to be the one between Kanye West and Taylor Swift. And because this is one of the most insane beefs of present day (and one that runs the deepest) I will be dedicating quite a few post to this. Now, most the real world has at least some background on the beef and knows some of what it entails, but for those who don't know anything, don't worry, I gotcha

For you to understand exactly what went down this year, you need to understand where all this shade hails from. This beef dates all the way back to the 2009 VMA Awards.

September 13, 2009

It begins. On this fateful day in New York City, a 19-year-old Taylor was at the MTV Video Music Awards, accepting the Best Female Video award for  'You Belong with Me'. During her cute acceptance speech, Kanye jumped up on the stage and grabbed the mic, interrupting with the now-immortal words: "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!"  If you still don't get it, Kanye basically said that Taylor's video shouldn't have won because Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" was on a higher level of fleek
Kanye was promptly kicked out, while Beyonce used her Video of the Year win later in the evening as an opportunity to bring Swift back on stage, and let her finish her speech. Because no matter how trying the circumstances, Beyonce remains a flawless human being.

New Words:
Gotcha v.  - 1. Coming from "i got you" meaning "I understabd what you've communicated to me" or "I got your back"
I'mma v. - Slang for "I'm going to".
Fleek n. - An annoying term (neologism) used by teenagers meaning excellence.

BTW: Kanye West(rapper and designer) and Taylor Swift(singer) are music artists

Until next time!
